About Second Home Sofas

Second Home Sofas is a small family run business providing Sussex and beyond with quality second hand sofas. The team consists of co-founders Lauren and Jacob who started the business online in 2021 and now also includes Jacob’s mum (Jane) and dad (Jon) who both work part time in the shop and on the van to help our small but growing business run as efficiently as possible.

Lauren and Jacob decided to start the company shortly after buying their first sofa together and being amazed at just how much they cost new and how long they would have to wait for it to arrive. Always being conscious of their carbon footprint they decided to look at what second hand options were out there, from the filthy to the completely outdated, they were again amazed to find little to no appealing options available. This sparked the idea for Second Home Sofas, to create a business which provides quality second hand sofas at affordable prices and with a smooth and fast delivery process.

If you’re unsure what a ‘quality’ second hand sofa might look like then please do pop into our shop for a browse, we think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Our Process

We source our sofas from all over the South East of England before they are brought back to Eastbourne and started on their reformation journey. All of our sofas go through our 5 step deep cleaning process before they are displayed in our shop for purchase. When our sofas have found new homes they are delivered within 7 days of purchase and each customer is given a short 1 hour delivery time slot. We offer delivery to anywhere in Sussex for just £25. Our 2 person delivery team will ensure that your sofa is placed in your chosen room with no fuss.

We buy sofas

Do you have a sofa you no longer need? Is it too good to take to the tip? If so, then we might be interested in purchasing it from you. If you would like us to give you a quote for your sofa please send us an email attaching photos of your sofa along with a detailed description of its condition. Please include the following:

  • Sofa dimensions

  • Sofa brand

  • Sofa material

  • Sofa colour (images do lie)

  • Smoke/pet free

Please note if your sofa has any tears or fading to the material we will not be able to make you an offer on your sofa. We also can’t purchase any sofa that does not contain its fire label so please check to make sure these are still intact.

Think Green

The average Britain creates 10 tonnes of Co2 per year which is double the current world average. We live in a time where ‘new is better’ and as a result there is a huge amount of waste contributing to the large production of Co2. At Second Home Sofas we aim to change that thinking by providing a quality second hand product that not only looks fantastic but is considerably cheaper than new.
